About online services

Online services is the place where you can access a range of Roads and Maritime Services services online, 24 hours a day. So if you can't get to a motor registry or would rather go online, you can visit online services at times that are convenient to you.

There are a range of services now available at online services. You can:

  • Renew your registration - all you need is your renewal notice and you can pay by credit card or BPAY.
  • Change your address - update your contact details online and we'll post you new address labels for your licence and registration papers.
  • Book licence tests - choose the motor registry, date and time from the options available. You can also change or cancel test bookings online.
  • Check your demerit points balance - find out how many demerit points you have on your driver licence.
  • Request a Vehicle History Check - if you're looking at buying a secondhand vehicle, you can request a vehicle history check to make sure it hasn't been stolen or written off, and the registration is current.
  • Lodge a Notice of Disposal - when you sell a vehicle, you can lodge a Notice of Disposal to prevent receiving any fines or infringement notices incurred by its new owner.
  • Transfer your vehicle registration - If you have purchased a new vehicle you can transfer the registration into your name
  • Order a copy of your driving record - If you need a copy of your driving record you can access it online.

    Important information

    *Customers must have a driver licence and a vehicle registered in their name to complete the setup of an account, online at online services. Customers who don't have a vehicle registered in their name can validate themselves using their driver licence information and will then be prompted to phone 13 22 13 and answer a series of questions relating to other information Roads and Maritime Services holds about them to complete the process.

    **Customers who supply a valid email address while completing a transaction requiring POI, such as Driver Licence renewal, will also receive an email inviting them to establish an online account.
