About DriveGreen

This screen is the home page of the DriveGreen application. It provides an overview of the scheme and the available options for calculation of CO2 emissions.

Steps

  1. Select whether you would like to complete an Individual or Business emissions calculation
  2. Click on Continue

Timeout after 45 minutes

If you are using the system but have been inactive for 45 minutes, your session will be timed out.

Privacy & Security

This can be accessed by clicking on the Privacy & Security link at the bottom of any page of the system. You are advised to read this policy, as access to DriveGreen is conditional on you reading and accepting its provisions.

Internet browser requirements

We recommend that it is best viewed using Microsoft Internet Explorer v8+. You can download the latest version of Microsoft Internet Explorer by clicking on the relevant link on the front page.

Display resolution

This system has been designed to be best viewed using a PC display resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels or more.

Mandatory fields

Some fields in the system are mandatory and are indicated by an asterisk next to the field name. Relevant information must be entered into these mandatory fields, otherwise the system will not let you progress beyond that page.

Error messages

If any errors are detected, these will be displayed at the top of the page and you will not be able to progress to the next page until you have corrected all the errors listed.

Form navigation

You can progress from field to field in the screen forms by using the Tab key or you can select each field by clicking on it.

Emission Calculation for Businesses

This screen displays the options to calculate vehicle emissions for business users.

Steps

  1. Enter the fuel consumption for each type of fuel for the entire fleet (litres per year) and number of vehicles for each of the three fuel types
  2. Click on calculate

Notes

  1. Number of vehicles can not exceed 99,999
  2. The minimum fuel consumption for the entire fleet is 500 litres per year per vehicle per fuel type.
  3. The maximum fuel consumption for the entire fleet is 9,999,999,999 litres per year per fuel type.

Emission Calculation for Individuals

This screen displays the options to calculate vehicle emissions for individual users. There are two options available for individuals. They can calculate based on fuel consumed or distance travelled.

Steps to calculate based on fuel consumed

  1. Select the fuel type, size of vehicle and number of vehicles.
  2. Enter the quantity of fuel used per week for each vehicle.
  3. Click on calculate

Notes

  1. Quantity of fuel used in litres in a week cannot exceed 9999
  2. Quantity of fuel used in a week by one vehicle should be at least four litres.
  3. The size of vehicle options are:
    1. Small - Fuel consumption per 100 km is eight litres. A typical small car is a Toyota Corolla 1.8L or Honda Civic 2.0L.
    2. Medium - Fuel consumption per 100 km is 10 litres. A typical medium car is a Toyota Camry 2.5L or Subaru Liberty 2.5L.
    3. Large - Fuel consumption per 100 km is 12 litres. A typical large car is a Holden Commodore 3.6L or Ford Falcon 4.0L.
  4. If more than one vehicle is selected the fuel type, size of vehicle and quantity of fuel consumed is assumed to be the same for each vehicle.

Steps to calculate based on distance travelled

  1. Select the fuel type, size of vehicle and number of vehicles.
  2. Enter the estimated average kilometres travelled in a year by each vehicle.
  3. Click on calculate.

Notes

  1. Estimated km travelled in one year cannot exceed 99,999.
  2. Estimated distance travelled in one year by one vehicle should be at least 2600 kilometres
  3. The average motorist travels about 15,000 kilometres annually.
  4. The size of vehicle options are :-
    1. Small - Fuel consumption per 100 km is eight litres. A typical small car is a Toyota Corolla 1.8L or Honda Civic 2.0L.
    2. Medium - Fuel consumption per 100 km is 10 litres. A typical medium car is a Toyota Camry 2.5L or Subaru Liberty 2.5L.
    3. Large - Fuel consumption per 100 km is 12 litres. A typical large car is a Holden Commodore 3.6L or Ford Falcon 4.0L.

This screen displays the result of the CO2 emissions calculation in tonnes for your vehicle(s) in a year.

Select to continue from this screen which will navigate you to pages which contain further information on how to offset your CO2 emissions.
